The Unity Ministry is sponsoring a Shadow of the Cross Back to School Free Book Program. Visit the SOTC Library immediately after the worship services on September 13, 20, and 27 to pick up free books that can be given to members, friends and people in the community.

The Council of Lutheran Women’s first unity event and business meeting – . Grandma’s Teacup – will take place on Sunday September 13, from 3 – 5 p.m. at Guardian Lutheran Church (24544 Cherry Hill in Dearborn). The cost is $5, and all proceeds will go toward scholarships. The Shadow of the Cross Family and Friends Potluck will take place on Sunday, September 13. You and your guests are invited to stay for the meal after the worship service. The sign-up sheet is on the table in the Narthex. Contact Veronica Green for more information.

The second SOTC’s Got Talent has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 17, at 1 p.m. Acts will include dancers, singers, comedians and featured guests.  Applications are on the counter in the Narthex.

Shadow of the Cross included “Missing Man” table during coffee hour this Memorial Day weekend. An explanation of each item on the table is provided below. The “Missing Man” or “Fallen Comrades Table” acknowledges and symbolizes fallen or missing comrades in arms. The white tablecloth symbolizes purity for those who served. The single red rose

4 choirs, along with violins, keyboard, guitar and congas, helped Shadow of the Cross celebrate it’s 7th anniversary. Praise be to God!

The Shadow of the Cross Women’s League hosted a prayer service, together with the LWML Wayne Oak Hills Zone. 

SAVE THE DATE! The Fall Rummage Sale will run from September 17 – 19. Setup will take place on September 15 and 16. Donations can be dropped off starting on Tuesday, September 1.

Bring in the aluminum pull tabs from your drink cans and place them in the blue collection box in the hallway. These will then be sent to the Ronald McDonald House in Ann Arbor. The Ronald McDonald House then takes the tabs to a local recycling company and receives money for each pound of tabs
