Welcome to Shadow of the Cross Lutheran Church's home on the web!
Our worship services, led by Pastor Brian Dupre, are held on Sundays at 8:30 and 11 a.m. The 11 a.m. service will be live-streamed. Saturday evening services have been discontinued.
COVID UPDATE: Our COVID precautions will include utilizing self-serve containers to limit contact during the communion distribution, wiping down the communion rail after each table is dismissed, making hand sanitizer available, practicing social distancing, and wearing masks. In addition, the sanctuary is cleaned after every service.
Please do not come to church if you have a fever or other flu-like symptoms, or if you have been around someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Shadow of the Cross is a unification of the former Faith Lutheran Church and the former St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. There has been a Lutheran congregation serving the Lord at this corner of 8 Mile Road and Middlebelt Road since 1892. God is good!
We are a confessional church of the Missouri Synod. That means that we believe, teach and confess, along with our sister congregations of the Missouri Synod, that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and that the Unaltered Augsburg Confession is a true exposition of that Word. In a changing world, it is important to hold to God’s unchanging Word. Many things around us can change, quickly drawn and erased by the hand of culture and fashion. One thing that will never change is God’s Word. It continues as a constant. God’s Word can be leaned upon and relied on in this world of shifting sand. We gather together as God’s family around this true Word and God’s Sacraments. It is the rock on which Shadow of the Cross is built.
Join us as we hear and are strengthened by God’s unchanging Word in Divine Service.
