About Our Church

SOTC-Night

Welcome to Shadow of the Cross Lutheran Church!

Our worship service, led by Pastor Brian Dupre, is held on Sundays at 9:45 a.m. This service is also streamed live.

Shadow of the Cross is a unification of the former Faith Lutheran Church and the former St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. There has been a Lutheran congregation serving the Lord at this corner of 8 Mile Road and Middlebelt Road since 1892. God is good!

We are a confessional church of the Missouri Synod. That means that we believe, teach and confess, along with our sister congregations of the Missouri Synod, that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and that the Unaltered Augsburg Confession is a true exposition of that Word. In a changing world, it is important to hold to God’s unchanging Word. Many things around us can change, quickly drawn and erased by the hand of culture and fashion. One thing that will never change is God’s Word. It continues as a constant. God’s Word can be leaned upon and relied on in this world of shifting sand. We gather together as God’s family around this true Word and God’s Sacraments. It is the rock on which Shadow of the Cross is built.

Join us as we hear and are strengthened by God’s unchanging Word in Divine Service.
